"I feel great. I feel fine! I feel this way ALL the time!" - chant from a friend
The above chant was shared with me in 2012 and whenever I say it in a cheering tone I still smile.
When we need a pick me up it's good to have a personal chant, quote, or mantra to motivate us.
Some motivational ditties (or mantras, chants, or quotes) are listed below:
1) To who much is given, much is required. - Source Unknown, though I've seen something like this in spiritual texts.
2) "We are not human beings having a spiritual experience; we are spiritual beings having a human experience." - Deceased French Philosopher, Teilhard de Chardin
3) "Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. - Proverbs 3:5-6
4) "The Universe/God/Holy Spirit (you pick) did not bring me this far to let me fall." - Kaja Green-Tovar, probably be said by others.
5) "Everything happens for a reason. I trust the Universal Spirit." - Kaja Green-Tovar, though I imagine someone, somewhere says something similar, hopefully.
6) "What work I have done, I have done because it has been play. If it had been work I shouldn't have done it." - Mark Twain
Feel free to post your motivational ditty (chant, mantra, quote).

Participate in Life Now, Give Yourself SOMETHING to Improve Upon
Greetings Dear Reader!
This evening a friend of mine told me they had not started a project they were passionate about because in their exact words, "I'm not good enough yet."
I found my friend's statement about not being good enough to be incredulous. Fervently, I told this friend that she was definitely "good enough" and in fact she was "more than good".
When we want to do something we must go for it while it is something we feel strongly about. Sure, we might need to improve upon whatever it is we're doing but at least we give ourselves something to even improve upon in the first place.
When I self-published my first book The A-B-C Book of Health and Fitness Motivation, I was brand new at the self-publishing process through Create Space (a subsidiary of Amazon.com). However, I decided that the contents of the book was something I felt too passionately about to not get it out to the public.
I have improved with the book writing and self publishing process. After writing my second book, Musings of a Commitment-Phobic Woman, I feel better about generating the book cover and submitting the contents of my book, via Create Space, for publication on Amazon.com.
Another example of being new at something but doing it anyway instead of waiting for what SEEMS like the perfect time is with my YouTube postings. I am so glad I started posting videos with the acceptance that I would learn and improve upon my postings along the way.
Dear Reader, if you really desire to do something, please go for it. We all need improvements in some area but do give yourself something to improve upon in the first place!
Best wishes for your optimal health and wellness!

Last Night I Cried
Greetings Dear Readers!
I am so happy this morning. With each new day comes light. That is the law of the Universe. We can always count on it to happen and I am so grateful for the consistency of Universal laws.
So... last night I cried. I cried as a result of how I was feeling. My thoughts and feelings resulted in emotions that led to tears. I am so glad I was able to cry as I lay in my bed about to fall asleep. I am especially grateful since I do not cry easily.
Tears lubricate our eyes and cleanse them (our eyes) of irritants. My perspective is that my emotional tears served to lubricate my feelings so that I did not become hardened. My tears cleansed what was emotionally irritating me. I felt relief as the tears poured out the irritation from my mind.
While I love the sassiness of Jo Dee Messina's country song titled, No Time For Tears, I want each person reading this to... make time for tears. Yes, make time to lubricate your emotions so you do not become hardened. Let your tears serve to wash out irritating feelings, emotions.
Last night I cried, and today... I feel awesome!

Life is Crazy? Maybe, maybe not.
A dear long-time friend girl texted me that their life is "crazy".
My genuine and loving response was: "Maybe it is, maybe it isn't. Depends on YOUR perspective." I I was sure to close the text by telling my friend I love her because I do. Seriously dear reader, our perceptions are important!
What we see in our lives is the thing we are paying close attention to. Is life crazy? It really depends on an individual's perspective. How we think or feel about something, our opinion, is our perspective.
Some people think Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighting is crazy. Some other individual think it's the coolest and best way to condition the mind and body. Personally, I think it's the same, just on different sides of the same coin. By that I mean it's crazy and a cool way to get into good physical condition; however, I would not want to enter the ring with anyone. Nope, no thanks! :)
A 24-hour Shakespeare-Bardathon may be crazy to one person while it may be the delight of one's week or whole year for another person. I, for one, find it to be absolutely delightful! I had the opportunity to participate in one when I lived in Alaska some years ago. Never heard of a Shakespeare Bardathon? Visit http://www.fstalaska.org/bard-a-thon/ to learn about it. After all it's beneficial to learn something new on a daily basis!
Are things really crazy in your life, in the world around you? Maybe, maybe not. It totally depends on your perspective.

Everything Happens For A Reason (#2)
In a previous post titled Everything Happens For A Reason (#1), I wrote about things happening for a reason due to the law of cause and effect. I stated that how we respond to people or situations is what matters most regardless of why something happens.
Recently, I ended a close friendship with a male companion. This person and I are both good people but we stopped being compatible as close friends. The fact that our friendship ended is a little emotionally upsetting because we became very familiar with one another, and got used to being around each other and spending time together.
However, I know that our friendship came to an end for a reason or reasons (with an 's'!). I know that in being spiritual beings having a human experience, sometimes we meet people who ride with us on the journey of life until it's time for them to make an exit or take a detour in a different direction.
When this happens we may feel sad. We might miss them very much. However, in keeping up our faith that everything really does happen for a reason, we should do our best to look at the good of the present and expect the very best for the future.
Wasting too much lamenting, about what could have or should have been, only serves to take away from what you could be doing now in preparation for what you desire to do next. Read that last sentence in bold type again and again until it sinks in for you.
Regardless of what is going on in your life, there is always something to be grateful for. Focus on the good and know that everything really does happen for a reason.

Everything Happens For A Reason (#1)
"Everything happens for reason." That is my response to things that happen in my life. I believe this statement to be true because of the law of cause and effect.
My declaration that everything happens for reason is a not a way of relinquishing accountability or taking control of my life. It is away of acknowledging that, yes somehow such and such happened. If possible we can decipher how such and such came to be; then decide on the best response (or if a response is even warranted). Sometimes we are unable to decipher why something happens but in trusting that there indeed is a reason, we can better go with the flow.
The following are two examples of things happening for a reason.
Example 1:
One day while visiting the office of someone I knew, an acquaintance we both knew showed up. I did not expect to see this acquaintance but I was glad to see them. While the three of us chatted, the person I was visiting mentioned that our acquaintance was having an issue. It just so happened that I was able to help.
If I had not shown up, I imagine a source of help would have come from some other place, but I was able to help while I was there. This person was so excited that I happened to be able and willing to help when it was needed. My being there was for a good reason. It turned out well for each of us. The friend who needed help, received it; and I was grateful for being able to give it. The friend who brought up that help was needed felt good in speaking out and getting everything going so the issue became a non-issue. Everything happened for a reason.
That was an example of something good happening for a good reason.

***Read on for a different example. ***
Example 2:
Once a message was left with someone I knew regarding a debt I needed to pay. I was temporarily embarrassed, but I knew the phone call happened for a reason. The phone call happened because I delayed in making a payment to pay a bill.
I was embarrassed for a reason, too! I was embarrassed because I knew that my character, or the order of personal affairs, could be viewed as questionable.
The phone call should not have been surprising since I procrastinated in paying the bill. It didn't matter that I kept meaning to call and make the required payment. Admittedly, if that call had not come to my job I might have continued to procrastinate in paying that particular bill! I would not have put it off forever, but I might have fallen further behind the due date.
However, upon getting the message, I paid the bill in full.
*****
The two examples above show that when things happen for whatever reason, it is up to us how we think, feel, and respond.

Want More Peace in Your Life?
To have peace is to be untroubled, content, and without strife. So how can you attain peace in your life? By THINKING peace, you will have peace.
That sounds so simple, you may be thinking. However, it is true. To have peace you must think in a peaceful manner. Your perceptions must be determinedly peaceful. Take note of the term determinedly. Determining to have peace is vital because while we are spiritual beings having a human experience, we experience different feelings when faced with people or situations that make us feel uncomfortable in some way.
By choosing (determining) to be peaceful, we are exerting calm, conscious control over how we respond. When confronting any person or situation that we are not in agreement with, we get to determine if our response will be a peaceful one.
Sometimes a peaceful response is to simply be silent. Other times, it may be to acknowledge the other person's point-of-view while agreeing to disagree without putting the other person down, name-calling, or engaging in some other belligerent tactic. Occasionally, a peaceful response might entail gathering statistical data to show the other party why you think a certain way and then let the individual decide for him or herself how they will proceed.
Basically, calmly staying true to yourself while letting others be who they are will help you to inherit a more peaceful existence.
I hope reading this has been helpful in your quest for a more peaceful life.
